What's it like?

Karina Lutz guides yoga at her home studio in Chepachet, RI and at nearby venues. She offers individual sessions upon request, and recently taught private classes to people with Asperger's Syndrome, mulitple sclerosis, developmental trauma, and someone recovering from open chest surgery.

Karina leads yoga in an eclectic melding of Kripalu, viniyoga, vinyasa, yoga therapy, and restorative yoga and Buddhist meditation. Each class is different, and will shake up your practice with new techniques, offering practices appropriate for dynamic unfolding. An emphasis on nonviolence in body and mind will be supported by mindfulness and breath awareness. Classes are open to all levels, and Karina teaches depending on who shows up and their needs and abilities. As always, take care of your self and modify--making the practice stronger or gentler according to your edge--the place you will get the most benefit--where sensation is strong but not painful or straining.

Yoga's variety of benefits span the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Some of the benefits can be:

  • improved health, relaxation, and calmness
  • increased strength and flexibility to face our challenges
  • increased body and energy awareness
  • mindfulness, leading to more conscious choices
  • inner peace and strength for nonviolent action in the world
  • experience of our interconnection with each other and the earth
